Description

EPA’s Green Vehicle Guide (GVG) provides public information about more efficient and less polluting transportation. The site serves as a trusted source for consumers to get the facts using plain and easy to understand language in a variety of formats. It also includes tools that help people understand and compare emissions from different travel choices. The session will focus on: • The GVG’s public resources related to electrification and discuss how we address frequently asked questions and combat misconceptions as we strive to reach a wider audience with the opportunities for a low/no carbon transportation future. Popular content includes EV Myths, Comparison: Your Car vs. an Electric Vehicle, and Hydrogen in Transportation. • Lessons learned about the challenges and opportunities in communicating to and engaging the public on clean transportation, with a focus on demystifying often complex topics like vehicle emissions and emerging technologies/fuels to encourage greater adoption of green transportation. • An overview of how web analytics and social media guide the development of new GVG content, resulting in a nearly 200% increase in annual website visitors between 2021 and 2022, with over 900,000 website visitors in 2022 alone.
