Detective Erica Mueller has dedicated more than 20 years to law enforcement, beginning her career as a law enforcement cadet at just 14 years old. After serving over a decade as a Detention Officer with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, she joined the Chandler Police Department, where she worked patrol before being promoted to the Family Crimes Unit. In 2021, Erica began conducting undercover online child exploitation investigations as a "chatter," and in 2024 she transferred full-time to the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit. Born in Washington and raised in Mexico, Spanish is her first language, and her bicultural background has become one of her greatest investigative assets. By creating authentic undercover personas portraying Hispanic teenage girls, she has successfully identified and apprehended Spanish-speaking child predators. In 2025 alone, Erica arrested 47 online child predators, including 40 Spanish-speaking offenders. She now shares her experience and investigative strategies with law enforcement professionals nationwide, focusing on undercover operations, and offender grooming behaviors.
