Dr. Gregory J. Bott, CISSP, GCIA, GCFE, GMON, GPEN, CCFE, is the Culverhouse Endowed MIS Fellow at the University of Alabama and a SCISA Cyber Nexus Distinguished Fellow. As the Director of the UA Cybersecurity Clinic, the Marillyn A. Hewson Cybersecurity Summer Camp, and the Assistant Director of the Institute of Data Analytics (Cybersecurity and Human Trafficking initiatives), Dr. Bott's research specializes in cybersecurity, cybercrime (specifically sex trafficking), and information privacy. His publication record includes works in journals such as Productions and Operations Management, the European Journal of Information Systems, the Journal for Management Information Systems, the Journal of Interactive Marketing, the INFORMS Journal of Applied Analytics, Computers and Security, Information Systems Journal, Communications of the AIS, Lawfare, Microsoft Press, among others. His collaborative research on sex trafficking was notably a finalist for the Wagner Prize for Excellence in the Practice of Advanced Analytics and Operations Research and has been applied by agencies such as Homeland Security, the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force, Birmingham PD, Tuscaloosa PD, NYPD, and the East Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force, aiding in the identification of sex trafficking victims and the apprehension of offenders targeting minors.
