Anisa Rahim is a Senior Staff Attorney at the Human Trafficking Legal Center where she leads the Direct Legal Services Program focusing on immigration representation and advocacy on behalf of survivors of human trafficking. Before joining The Human Trafficking Legal Center, she served as a Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice where her work included enforcement of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Previously, Anisa spent more than a decade at Legal Services of New Jersey, most recently as Vice President and Supervising Attorney. She founded and led Legal Services of New Jersey’s anti-trafficking unit, which provided legal representation and advocacy for survivors. The anti-trafficking unit obtained T-visas and other humanitarian forms of relief for trafficking survivors, providing holistic civil legal assistance through partnerships with other public interest attorneys, law enforcement and social service providers.
