Kim Figueroa endured a traumatic childhood, followed by horrific experiences in foster care and lockdown facilities during her adolescence. Kim aged out of the system into homelessness, leading to nearly a total of 13 years of exploitation. Kim suffered from PTSD, and a variety of mental health illnesses, leading to drug abuse and feelings of no hope. She has since been able to use her expertise, knowledge, and lived experiences to assist FBI, US Marshalls and local law enforcement with cases and advocacy within the Judicial system, DCF, DJJ, and others. The Attorney G’s Office recognized Kim as Survivor Advocate of the Year 2023. She has also received the Evelyn Memorial Award from the FDLE and NMEC. Pasco Sheriff’s Special Service Award and many more for her work combatting HT. Highly sought-after on local and national levels, Kim sits on 5 HT boards and serves as an advisory leader. Kim has been an employee of MoreTooLife for 7 years providing direct victim care services in the field. Her passion is to fight HT, serving organizations with the same mission to create change, justice for victim’s rights and legislative reform.
