Lauren Wegener is certified as both SANE-A and SANE-P providing trauma informed care across the lifespan for victims of violence. She graduated with her BSN in 2009 from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and earned her MSN with emphasis on forensic nursing, from Duquesne University in 2023. Serving as part of leadership locally, statewide, nationally and internationally include contributions toward standardization of SANE policies, procedures, and practice within Arkansas, advisor to the medical subcommittee of the child advocacy centers of Arkansas, advisory board member for Sukteri Care, medical leadership with international projects, as well as contributing, voting member of Arkansas Human Trafficking Council. Current projects include curriculum for Nepali nurses, educating advocacy groups across the state, and providing medical response coordination for human trafficking operations. Lauren works for UAMS within the Psychiatric Research Institute and as a forensic nurse specialist.
