Tiffiny Alexander, MA, is the IMPACT (Improving Multidisciplinary Partnerships to Address Child Trafficking) Youth Advocate at Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center in Charleston, SC. Prior to earning her MA in Psychology from The Citadel Graduate College, she obtained her BA in Greensboro, NC, where she also worked with teen mothers through the YWCA. During her time in graduate school, she interned at College Of Charleston’s Counseling Center as a therapist, followed by providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at Dee Norton. Upon graduation in 2015, she became a Clinical Intake Advocate, as well as worked in kinship care and at a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility before taking on her current role in 2022 working with youth who are victims of (or at-risk for) trafficking/exploitation. In her role, she works directly with the MDT as well as youth to ensure a child-focused and trauma-informed coordinated response for each client on her caseload. She assists with investigative needs, triaging medical care, providing mental health needs & crisis management, psychoeducation & risk reduction, and court accompaniment to each youth within this high-risk population.
