Courtney Furlong, MS, MEd, LPC, CRC, PhD(c), currently serves as the Director of Research for Street Grace and is a PhD candidate at Auburn University. A native of Atlanta, GA, Courtney holds a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Science and a Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling. Courtney focuses her research on sex trafficking, sexual assault, and gender violence. A direct-service practitioner for more than 20 years, Courtney has assisted victims of sex trafficking from ten countries covering Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. Furlong previously worked at the International Labour Organization, NightLight International, and Frontline Response (i.e., Out of Darkness). In 2012, she received Auburn University's Young Alumni of the Year Award and was featured in the “Young Influencers List” in Brad Lomenick’s book, The Catalyst Leader. Courtney serves on the North America leadership team for the International Christian Alliance on Prostitution (ICAP).
