Brandon Smith is a Detention Captain with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. He has been with the Sheriff’s Office for over 22 years. He has obtained a Detective Certification, General Instructor certification, Victim Advocate certification, Sexual Assault Investigator, Staff Misconduct Investigator, Force Investigations, and PREA Coordinator. He has completed over 1100 sex crimes interview. He has worked with the LBGTQ+ community and has interviewed over 300 transgender individuals. For the last 6 years, he has been a Sex Trafficking liaison with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and cotaught with ASU Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research for Sex Trafficking Behind Bars.
