Speaker Bio
Nyeri Richards is a Victims Justice Specialist with the Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) Human Trafficking Division. Prior to joining OVC in the summer of 2023, she served as a Southwest Regional Director with a reputable nonprofit serving incarcerated young people. Her portfolio includes having worked directly with child victims of familial sex abuse and enhancing responses to child victims of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. During her decade long career in community-based services, Ms. Richards promoted the importance of community investment as a means to deter and reduce crime. She was proclaimed by the Nevada State Senate for her efforts in mentorship.

Ms. Richards currently resides in Las Vegas, NV, holding an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts in Urban Leadership & Development from the UNLV School of Public Policy. She plans to pursue a doctoral program with an emphasis on the impacts of revitalization and gentrification efforts in BIPOC communities.
