This session will provide participants with an inside look at how Michigan is leveraging a federal award to strengthen collaboration and coordination to improve systemic responses to children and youth victims of labor and sex trafficking. Participants will learn about the project's origins and how gaps, needs and barriers were identified in the state's evolving antitrafficking landscape. The presentation will discuss the importance of collaborative partnerships, how partners were identified for this project and why these networks played an essential role in the project's success. Presenters will also examine the results of the project's comprehensive needs assessment, a first-of-its-kind survey developed to understand human trafficking from a service provider's perspective in Michigan. Attendees will have the opportunity to review these results, ask questions, hear about lessons learned and discover how this information will inform future strategies to support improved outcomes for trafficking survivors.
