Description

As trafficking prevention efforts continue to evolve, screening tools and data-driven approaches are playing a critical role in identifying and supporting vulnerable youth. This presentation will explore key findings from an extensive analysis and recent report of youth trafficking screening data collected across Texas and Louisiana, highlighting emerging trends, key risk indicators, and recommendations for improving victim identification. Using insights from the “Youth Screening Insights Report” (attached), authors of the report will showcase in this session how the CSE-IT (Commercial Sexual Exploitation Identification Tool) has enabled the detection of subtle trafficking indicators, strengthened early intervention efforts, and supported more effective safety nets across diverse service settings. Key Takeaways: - Screening Trends & Impact: Insights from 174,000+ screenings in Texas and 6,800+ in Louisiana, highlighting patterns across agency types. - Demographic Findings: How factors such as age, gender, and system involvement influence risk levels and service provision. - Prevalent Risk Indicators: The most common warning signs among youth flagged as "Clear Concern" and what they reveal about trafficking dynamics. - Recommendations for Action: Strategies for enhancing screening protocols, improving cross-agency collaboration, and strengthening data-informed responses to youth exploitation.
