Amy Hutsell is Program Director for the Sexual Assault, Child Abuse, and Human Trafficking Unit at Georgia’s Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. She has secured over $19M in federal and foundation funding for Georgia’s criminal justice initiatives and is a sought-after speaker at state and national events. She oversees the Georgia Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Project, chairs the State SART Expert Committee, and developed The Georgia SART Guide, used statewide by law enforcement, SANEs, advocates, prosecutors, and judges. She led the Sexual Assault Kit project, eliminating Georgia’s backlog, creating a statewide SAK tracking system, and establishing the SAKI Task Force, which helped solve cold cases linked to serial killer Samuel Little. She also directs the Georgia Coalition to Combat Human Trafficking and manages state and federal victim service grants. With 16+ years in sexual assault and child abuse services, she previously served as Assistant Director of the Gwinnett Sexual Assault Center and holds a certificate in Genetic Genealogy from the University of New Haven.
