Description

Nonprofit leaders will learn how to tap into the rapidly growing potential of donor-advised funds (DAFs) to elevate their fundraising in 2025. The Chronicle of Philanthropy aptly refers to DAFs as the “bullet train of philanthropy,” and with assets growing by 560% from $38 billion to $251 billion between 2011 and 2023, DAFs now represent 22% of all individual charitable giving in the U.S. This explosive growth presents a significant opportunity for nonprofits to secure steady, flexible funding in a shifting philanthropic landscape.

This session will explore why DAFs have become such a transformative force in modern giving, allowing donors to contribute with immediate tax benefits while bypassing the complexities of private foundations. Attendees will learn actionable strategies to engage DAF donors, such as building relationships with DAF advisors—key gatekeepers for securing gifts—and participating in DAF Day, a unique initiative that encourages donors to take action and support nonprofits.

Additionally, nonprofit leaders will discover how to deepen donor engagement, identify giving patterns, and encourage recurring contributions, turning initial DAF gifts into sustained support. By using these strategies, nonprofits can build lasting relationships and maximize their fundraising potential.

By the end of this session, nonprofit leadership will be armed with the tools and insights needed to harness the power of DAFs and keep their organizations on track for success in 2025 and beyond.
