Description

As more cities across the country race to set and meet decarbonization policy mandates, there is an increasing need to quickly learn from proven best practices in the affordable housing landscape. With more than $600,000 of incentive funding already committed to energy efficiency upgrades in affordable multifamily housing, the NYS Affordable Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program’s (AMEEP) newest HPD-IPNA pilot serves as a successful model of how utility-based programs - combined with community-based organization engagement - can address comprehensive retrofit affordability to ensure residents in the most need are prioritized in the transition away from fossil fuels. In this session, attendees will learn how: 1) New York State utilities are addressing comprehensive retrofit affordability; 2) partnerships with community-based organizations enhance customer engagement and; 3) simplified energy analysis tools support a streamlined and lower-cost approach to program design.
