Description

The Los Angeles County Law Enforcement First Responder Protocol for Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (the Protocol) is in place to provide a more compassionate and appropriate response for youth impacted by CSE that avoids arrest and detention. Centering the young people most impacted, the protocol requires a coordinated response by law enforcement, county agencies, and community-based advocates. This workshop will discuss the expansion of the protocol to seven law enforcement agencies, the over 1,400 recoveries, and will review a recent report reflecting on ten years of implementation, highlighting successes and lessons learned in combating commercial sexual exploitation.
